Chief Patrick Hemphill

Welcome to the Ouachita Parish Fire Department. We proudly serve the 100,000+ citizens of Ouachita Parish by protecting lives, property and the environment through fire suppression, rescue, medical care, fire prevention, disaster preparedness, hazardous material mitigation and community education.

Our department responds to more than 10,000 calls annually within our 600+ square mile jurisdictional area. Our professional responders continually train to manage and control all types of incidents with courtesy and respect to everyone involved. We recently improved our fire class rate to a Class 3 department when surveyed by the Property Insurance Association of Louisiana.
